MURDOCH PSYCHIATRY-COCKBURN WELLBEING
DRUG AND ALCOHOL SUPPORT SERVICE.
A CURTIN UNI SUPPORTED PROJECT
Murdoch Psychiatry-Cockburn Wellbeing (CWB) is a Nurse Practitioner led clinic that screens and assesses the physical health needs of patients with a formal mental health diagnosis. CWB works in partnership with GPs as well as other primary/community/mental health services in order to improve the physical health of patients who experience mental health issues. Where appropriate CWB will diagnose, treat and provide ongoing management for patients, however will also liaise with or refer to other services as appropriate.
CWB also investigates new models of healthcare delivery that will better meet the physical health needs of those who experience occasions of mental ill health. As such, clients of CWB will be invited to participate in research projects being conducted by staff and students. Participation in research is voluntary, with an ultimate aim to provide accessible, affordable and appropriate primary care services to those with mental health concerns – within the community in which they live. CWB is currently a bulk-billing clinic. We are open: Monday: 11.00– 3.00pm Tuesday: 10.00 – 3.00pm Wednesday: 10.00 – 6.00pm |
