Is this your first appointment?
Please remember to bring along the following:
  • A referral letter from your GP
  • Your Medicare card
  • Any relevant test results and past records including blood tests and scans
Settlement of account is required on the day of appointment. If you are unable to attend, we will appreciate a phone call 48 hours prior to avoid losing your deposit.
Most of the outpatient consults are not covered by private health insurances, however its worth checking with your private health fund before you see us.

What to expect?
We endeavour to form a positive therapeutic relationship , working collaboratively, empowering our client for decision making.
First appointment will be around an hour in duration. Your psychiatrist will ask you about the problem which you are concerned with as well as your past experiences, family background, physical health and other relevant information. The information shared is highly confidential and only in very rare circumstances we may have to break it (risk to self and/or others).

Please feel free to ask about your diagnosis, treatment options, resources including self-help groups, websites as well as fees.
A detailed letter will be shared with your nominated GP after your consult.

What is a Psychiatrist ?

A psychiatrist is a medical trained doctor in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional, psychiatric, psychological and behavioural problems, evidence based medication management as well as psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. A psychiatrist must complete formal examinations to ensure that they meet a minimum standard of practice before they are awarded fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).

Specialities and sub-specialities

Picture
We specialise in all range of general Psychiatric disorders including anxiety, mood spectrum treatment resistant depression, ADHD/ADD, schizophrenia and other generalised psychiatric disorders. Our team also provide medico-legal opinions, occupational health assessments, workers compensations and others.

Since we all are unique, our preferred approach to therapy is one that is both tailored and collaborative in nature. I believe in the enhancement of personal resilience, and I aim to help my clients achieve this by first guiding them through a path of personal understanding of their thoughts, actions and feeling. We use evidence based treatment modalities, both medications and non-medications.
